Hi! My name is Cindy Andrews and I am the Art Specialist at Scholar Academy. I was born in Utah but moved to California for a few years and then to Idaho where I graduated from Meridian High School. Following high school, I attended Boise State University until my husband was discharged from the Air Force and we moved to Ogden, UT. There I transferred to Weber State University and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Art with a minor in History.
I am married to Robert Andrews and we are the parents of 9 children and grandparents of 10 grandchildren. After we both graduated from college we moved to Denver, Colorado for 12 years. We were delighted when an opportunity to return to Utah presented itself and we have been able to make Tooele our home for 11 years now.
When I’m not teaching Art at Scholar Academy I can be found working for a local mortgage company as a loan officer and in my spare time I love doing things with my family, like playing board games, building jigsaw puzzles, camping or watching some of the worst movies ever produced while eating lots and lots of pizza. I also enjoy painting, drawing, photography, and needlework.
I love working with children and art is my passion. I am excited to be able to introduce young minds to the beautiful and wonderful world of art. I believe that guiding them in an appreciation for art in all its forms will help expand their imaginations and critical thinking skills and that this will enhance their overall learning experience.
