Hello! I’m Mrs. Cornia. I am so excited to be spending my ninth year of teaching at Scholar Academy! I have taught first, second, fourth grades and K-6 science. I loved teaching second and fourth grade so I am sure I will adore third grade!
I was born and raised in Wyoming and received my teaching degree from the University of Wyoming. I moved to Utah in 2005. I was so happy to live somewhere that had other seasons besides winter! :o) I met my wonderful husband in 2006 and he is the one that gave me the courage and strength to start teaching in 2007. We got married in 2008, and moved to Tooele in 2009. I love the peace and quiet and the mountains! It reminds me of my hometown in Wyoming.
My sister is one and a half years older than I am, she is very smart and motivated me to do my very best in school. We are really close and I would definitely consider her one of my best friends. My brother is two years younger than I am and is a Warrant Officer in the Marines. I am very proud of him and thankful for all that he has sacrificed for our country.
I only have one child and he is going into kindergarten, he is very excited to be going to “Mom’s School” and I am excited for him and all that he is going to learn this year. He’s a great kid and I am so blessed to have him in my life! We have three cats—all with their own cute, quirky personalities. During the summer, I like to plant flowers and grow herbs in my garden. When I can, I foster animals for a local rescue group, giving them a second chance at life! I enjoy taking college classes, crossword puzzles, cooking and homemaking. But most of all, I love teaching and learning!! I know this is going to be a great school year. I look forward to meeting everyone!!
