Hello! My name is Georgia Bunnell and I’ll be teaching sixth grade. I completed my BS in Elementary Education at Utah State University with a mathematics/science emphasis. I taught sixth grade for two years before I moving to Prague, Czech Republic in 2009. I lived in Prague until July 2013. It was a great adventure! I traveled a lot and enjoyed learning about new cultures.
My passion is reading. Thomas Jefferson said, “I can’t live without books!” I agree! In addition to reading, I enjoy hiking, running, hand crafts and cooking. I also enjoy learning and, as a result, I’ve returned to university to study and earn my English as a second language endorsement. I was also Girl Scout leader for ten years and was the Overseas Committee Chair for Czech Republic for four years.
I’m excited to be teaching at Scholar Academy. This upcoming year will fun and interesting, for all of us. Because it is a new school, and thus a new environment for all of us, we’ll all be learning together. I have high expectations for my students and ask that they come to school each day with a desire to learn. You may expect that I will be prepared to teach your child and encourage them to excel. Most basic information you will be able to find on the class website, however, you are also always welcome to email me with questions or comments. I want to hear from parents and their children. I will be asking for parents to volunteer in my classroom because I know from experience that students benefit from the presence of a parent in the classroom and even more so when it is their parent.
