Lanette Sharp

Music

Hi! My name is Lanette Sharp. I have lived in Utah my entire life. I currently live in West Valley, Utah with my daughter who is a Kindergarten TA at Scholar Academy. After graduating from Cottonwood High, I went to the University of Utah for two years. I transferred to Weber State University where I received my Bachelors and Masters in elementary education. I have a music minor in vocal performance, and a Level I Endorsement in Elementary Music. I was recognized in 2007 as Fine Arts Teacher of the Year in Utah. I also have written several text books for teachers to incorporate music in their classroom.

Three years ago I retired from Weber School District after teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades for 30 years. I have been the music specialist at Wasatch Peak Academy for the past two years. I enjoy teaching children to love and appreciate the Fine Arts, especially music. I have had the wonderful opportunity for the past years to help my students write and perform original operas in the classroom. Through music, I have seen remarkable growth in children in their academics and self esteem. Music is my passion and my motto is MUSIC ROCKS!! I am thrilled to be at Scholar Academy!
